Now before I go into this post, let me say that I am not bashing Jeffrey Campbell but I am a bit confused with the overuse of one of his designs…the Lita Boot. I like the funky design of the boot and I’ve heard from my readers that platforms are among the most comfortable of shoes. My issue is that a LOT of young ladies seem to be wearing…

I was perusing one of my favorite luxury e-shops, Net A Porter, and I came across Jimmy Choo’s ICON collection. Jimmy Choo is releasing modern versions of their most iconic shoes to celebrate their 15 year anniversary. As if this news isn’t exciting enough, the house has chosen to donate 10% of the net profit of Icon heels to the Jimmy Choo charitable foundation. Click “more” for Fashion Citizen’s picks…

Flat shoes have long since been the ugly step child of some women’s shoedrobe. They’re always the relief for the sexy stilettos but I say to you that flats have arrived and they can indeed stand on their own. The shoes above are what inspired this post, they are Christian Louboutin Gazul ballerina flat shoes…they retail for $2,695. If you’ve got that in your discretionary fund for shoes, then go…

Forty years ago, Diane von Furstenberg designed her first collection. Bold and colorful with playful prints and shapes, fashion gurus far and wide remember her trademark wrap dress and timeless silhouettes. Forty years later, the same kaleidoscope of images popped into her head, but from a different perspective. She knew the line was classic and wanted to bring it back. It became clear to her what she needed to do….

Rodarte’s Fall collection instantly brought to mind the Laura Ingall’s Wilder series, Little House on the Prairie with some native american and bad girl edge thrown in. However, I’m certain that those women were not wearing shoes like the ones that walked down the runway in this collection. There was native american beading, sharp cut outs and sensible but still high heels. Check out more examples of the interesting footwear…

pic:jakandjill.com The Balmain pump above was a design that I didn’t expect. Although this pump is not from the recent collection, I was recently reading/researching for the blog and I saw how many designers were putting out womens shoes with bows. I know some of you are saying that a pump with bows or even a flat with bows is juvenile, but I’ll tell you what, I’ve selected a few…

This image of Tom Ford closing the YSL Rive Gauche 2004 Autumn/Winter show in Paris was undoubtedly discomforting to many in the fashion industry. Tom Ford was the King Midas of every label he touched and with his impeccable style, one can surely see why. Mr. Ford is back with his own womenswear line, as many of us had hoped for. Reading about his journey in the December issue of…
