Fashion/Music Mash-Up – I Am…Sasha Fierce (Disc 2) – Beyonce

What's up Fashion Citizens...

I'm back again with the conclusion of our first Fashion & Music Mash-Up for Beyonce's new release "I Am...Sasha Fierce". Let's get right into the fashionable interpretations of the songs...

1. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

Well it seems as if Jay-Z liked it and put a ring on it, for this look I drew inspiration from the videos paired down aesthetic. A black Marc Jacobs velvet pantsuit ( $4,100 - Net-A-Porter) anchors the look with a laser cut waist belt from Topshop ($45.29) to break up the black. The only hint of color comes from the Snakeskin Padded Lips Clutch in Red ($339.64 - Lulu Guinness). On the feet, Sidney slingbacks by L.A.M.B., perfect for dancing and tipping around the hotspots. Although Beyonce rocked a robotic glove in her video, these Nina Peter black leather studded gloves will stand in just fine ($235 - Stylebop). The ring to top it off is a selection from the "Haute Joaillerie" collection from Chopard. It is a 31 carat diamond, Ashoka cut, set in platinum.

2. Radio

A love affair with the radio, romancing the beats and feeling the melody wash over you like waves, Radio is just that. The girl in this song loves her radio and the outfit above is perfect for listening to beats up in her room and then dashing out to buy the latest release, in style ! The tee is a graphic tee from Rich Life ($88.59 - La Celeb) and on bottom, some comfy sweats from American Eagle ($34.50 This girl is spunky and energetic, so her footwear has to show it...these Reebok Freestyle Hi-Top's do just that and add further interest with multi-colored laces ($64.99 - Journeys). Kerri Wilder Silver Peace Hoops are the only jewelry because this girl isn't fussy, she's all about her music ($176 - Max & Chloe). To shield her from the cold, she's wearing a Motorcycle jacket from Le Chateau and to always keep her love, the radio, on her mind she brings her Radio Bag from Punkyfish ($37.74 - Punkyfish).
3. Diva

"Fifty million round the world and they said that I couldn’t get it
I done got so sick and filthy with benji's I cant spend" is one of the opening lines to this song here. This woman has money and more than enough of it goes to her diva-esque appearance. A Chanel Tweed jacket, a favored brand of Beyonce's, on top of a Adidas by Stella McCartney tank ($85 - Net-A-Porter), name brands is what this girl is all about. Leather leggings that fit close by Maison Martin Margiela ($1,109.48 - Brown's Fashion) and Louboutin Altbotte Platform boots ($1,495 - Net-A-Porter) that will have her up on 6 inch heels will have her bottom half as chic as her top. Chanel earrings on her ears showcase the brand's symbol because...she's a diva ($227.00 - Luxury Shop) ! On her neck, a statement necklace from Roberto Cavalli adds shine to her already radiant face ($1,525 - Net-A-Porter). No other bag would do for this look except the Hermes 32cm Sellier Kelly bag ($21,818 - Luxury Shops) in shiny crocodile and if she happened to answer when you called, she'd do so on the Vertu 8088, adorned with diamonds because...well you know the song.

4. Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dream or Beautiful Nightmare, either way she doesn't want to wake up from him. This song made me think of a woman who's lounging daydreaming about this man who's got her twisted, she can't determine if he's good or bad, she just knows she wants him around. Her underpinnings are La Perla, black silk semi-sheer lace, sexy ($570 for the set - Net-A-Porter)!! The black silk chiffon kimono dress by Matthew Williamson covers the La Perla, but just so, she wants to keep his interest ($2,411.50 - Net-A-Porter). Giuseppe Zanotti satin sandals in Mauve($694.95 - Endless), just add to the fire that exists between these two and she's wearing David Yurman Black Onyx Gem Drop earrings ($5,200 - David Yurman) as her lone accessory. A hint of Chanel No. 5 lingers on her pressure points beckoning the dream to follow.

5. Video Phone

Sexy simplicity. Video Phone is a progression from Sweet Dreams. She's decided he's a sweet dream and the filming begins. This alluring minx continues to draw her suitor in a Roksanda Ilncic strapless mini dress, black satin with a hint of white, after all she's still a little pure ($1,495 - Net-A-Porter). Dangling ever so seductively from her neck is the Del Gatto Diamond and Onyx Drop Pendant Necklace, a little bit of bling and panache combined ($1,145 - Forzieri). She's teetering atop Brian Atwood's Starlet suede suede and bright red patent heels. While she skulks around in her stillettos being filmed, she has her own filming device by way of the Blackberry Curve. You may film her, but turn about is fair play.

6. Hello

You had me at hello, a recurring sentiment this girl proclaims through out the song brings to mind a quiet date at a small cafe where she and her love reminisce over the many reasons they are in love. Simplicity is evident in the basic outfit of a white shirt and jeans. White shirt by Old Navy ($20) and jeans by Seven for All Mankind ($285). The topper is a Matthew Williamson striped fitted jacket in pink and green ($705 - Net-A-Porter). She'd adorn her jacket with the Chiffon Flower Corsage from Miss Selfridge (£7) and the Enchanted Key Brooch from Topshop (£9)because she says " he doesn't need to buy a diamond key to unlock her heart". Cheesy maybe, but she's in love. Piling on brooches is fine when they work together. She wears Alek Platform pumps with a hidden platform by Acne, simple design for the simplistic woman ($285 - eLuxury). She brings along a simple bronze wristlet to carry essential (Botkier for Target).

7. Ego

"Some women were made but me, myself, I like to think I was created for a special purpose.
You know, whats more special than you, you feel me?" The opening question of "Ego". This woman is self assured and her and her man are two power players in the world. Lisa Wu-Hartwell comes to mind. I know you're looking at the leggings, Pam Hogg Mettalic leggings are super hero like in appearance, but this woman is super...She's got a big ego, such a huge ego and she wears things like that cause she can back it up (£260 - Browns Fashion). The black short sleeved top underneath (£18 - Dorothy Perkins), serves to keep the outfit basic...she's got a huge ego, but she's no fashion tragedy. Her fur topper is aVanessa Bruno rabbit fur coat ($1,254 - La Garconne) and her booties are Balenciaga F/W Harness booties. Dark shades from Chanel cover her eyes from the paparazzi and she carries her neccessities in an Alexander McQueen Elvie Bag, another favorite designer of Mrs. Carter ($2,294 - Couture Zappos). Her earrings are eye-catching organic creations by Garuda, crafted from water buffalo horn ($40 - Garuda).

8. Scared of Lonely

This song borders on manic..this woman is afraid of being alone and without her love. I imagine a wealthy woman alone in a big mansion, constantly waiting for her love to return to her from his various jaunts around the world. She wears extravagant garments like the Galliano dress ($918 - YOOX) and avant-garde shoes like the Roger Vivier open toe ankle boots with open heel insets ($1,325, Roger Vivier) in a turquoise suede. She shields herself from the cold of loneliness with a vintage fur stole and her jewelry, her estate ruby ring and the Midnight Dreams Ribbon Drape Framed Daisies Pendant Necklace ($48 - 2028 by 1928 Jewelry) adorn her delicate neck and fingers...reminders of the many places her love has traveled and come back to her from. The Gerald Yosca Ruby Earrings hang from her ears as yet another decadent reminder of her loves lavish gifts for her ($212 - Max & Ruby). The last item she holds the dearest is a simple teddy bear from the UK for just £9, when the terror of loneliness grips her, she in turn grasps hold to this simple gift.

Bonus Track - Why Don't You Love Me

This was a bonus track on the Deluxe Edition and although the title sounds quite docile, the woman singing this is flipping the script on dude and saying she's got everything he needs and he'd be lucky to love a woman like her. Not why don't you love me but why DON'T you love me? Powerful and confident, she wears the Sonia Rykiel rabbit intarsia dress ($1,650 - Net-A-Porter) over bright yellow skinny jeans ($24.50 - WetSeal). Even her shoe choice is bold, by way of these Purple Amber Platforms by Georgina Chapman ($471.95 - My Wardrobe). She has minimal accessories because her personality is her most prized accessory as she proclaims, "I got beauty, I got class, I got style, I got a**. Her black pyramid cuff gives her that rocker edge ($73.13 - Groove Market) and her Panther Doorknocker earrings by Stefano Virginio ($350.97 - ShopNBC) are off the beaten path, but they work on this strong woman. She wears a grey cropped biker jacket (£120.00 - Warehouse) and nestled in the crook of her arm is her Monogram Vernis Alma MM bag in Violette by Louis Vuitton ($2,080 - eLuxury). You better love this girl or she'll go find someone who will !
